Manufacture:

Ambulance conversions are normally manufactured to a specification supplied by the client.  Production lines cater for quantities varying from tenders of 4 to 150+ units (Military and Government as well as private Ambulance companies) and the factory also assembles individual requirements for one or two units required by such clients as Metro Rescue, Sea Rescue, EMR, Mountain Rescue, Private Hospitals, Clinics, Mines, Donor companies.  

Ambulance design and construction covers a variety of models such as those manufactured for the Botswana Defense Force, (which is effectively a mobile ICU Unit,) as well as variations from basic to luxury and other specific designed requirements.   Models include Patient transporters with stretcher and seating configurations, patient loads up to 10 stretchers for disaster management, and models for use in casualty evacuation from buildings or motor vehicle accidents.

Requirements in Africa particularly are unique due to the vastness and the generally poor state of rural roads, and this has created a demand for 4x4 vehicles such as the Toyota Landcruiser, Land Rover, and Nissan Navara.  The conversion for these types of vehicles takes the form of a “BOX” which is attached to the chassis, whereas the use of the Panel van for the 2x4 requirement, the van section is modified into the patient compartment.  Vehicles in this section most suited include the Toyota Quantum, Nissan Interstar, and Peugeot panel van modes.  

Ambulance vehicles are fitted with all basic equipment such as G2 Ferno self loading stretchers, Heyer Oxygen supply points, all electrical and lighting, rotator light bars, LED Red light, and amber indicator light.  The conversion includes siren amplifier, auxiliary battery and alternator upgrade together with merit plugs and spotlight.  Equipment such as Ventilators, Defibrillators, Splints, Incubators, Air conditioning and other equipment are available as options.
